Keep On, 2015

Welcome back! Did you find your way okay? I know this place is kinda confusing--it's been a while since you've heard anything, it looks all different, the name's changed, the URL's even changed and the content is constantly changing so what's the deal?

I'll cut to the chase: I don't know if I like blogging anymore. Yeah, it's a nice way of keeping friends updated and also a nice way to keep track of my progress on any hobbies or projects I'm working on but... it takes time. It probably doesn't seem like it takes that much time to a lot of people because it's easy to skim or quickly browse blogs, but the coming up with topics, the actual writing, and the photo-editing can take up a lot of time. And that just won't cut it for someone working 50+ hours a week.

But you know what? I still like making things. Ugh, maybe it's just easier to quickly post my current projects on my instagram and be like "Hey peoples, double-tap this!".  To be honest, I don't know exactly why I'm writing up this post. Maybe you can relate? Maybe you like the things I make and you're interested in the process behind it? Maybe that's what I'm shooting for here. I don't know.

Anyways, it's been hectic the last few months. Yes, months. November was my birthday month, so we did some traveling for that. Plus, we traveled to the east coast to visit in-laws for the Thanksgiving holiday. And, even though we stayed in town for Christmas and New Year you can imagine it was pretty busy.

The good news? I still made things. Oh man, it was crazy. You may have seen some stuff popping up on my instagram or elsewhere, but yeah, I still make things. And I still want to do that in 2015. I know for a lot of people the new year means starting something new or developing a new habit or changing something about your lifestyle. I think I've done that too many times. I think this year I'll just keep on "keeping on". I want to keep taking photos and documenting life through photo albums. I want to keep playing with paintbrushes and hand-lettering my favorite quotes. I want to keep sketching and learning how to paint digitally. I want to keep baking and trying new recipes. It'll be hard sometimes, but I think it'll be worth it. If not, I'll let you know ;)
